Hard (ish) pruning of a weeping birch

Cutting Porcelain Paving to a Curve

Has anyone had any experience with cutting porcelain paving to an outside curve shape once they are laid and gone off? We frequently do it successfully with natural stone but porcelain is a trickier beast?!

What's wrong?

This dead patch of lawn just wont reseed, the dead area seems to be getting larger (since Feb) not smaller.
