I have just left the greenkeeping world I was deputy course manager in Crowthorne so not far from you, and have set up my lawn care gardening service based down in Sherborne. Currently trawling the forum boards and working out prices and costs. I'm after a bespoke flexible service and not intereted in the bigger franchise set ups!
Based on what I have read you charge around £24 per treatment for a 50m lawn? Curious to know how you approach pricing for mowing lawns as well as treatments and do you find people are happy to pay a monthly direct debit or pay by the treatment/job?
I have got a van, kit sorted and have planty of contacts with rep's suppliers for products. I notice franchise seem to use granular fert and not liquids. I think there is room for both esp to offer greater quality of service and lawn mixing between both granular and liquids. Again I'd be interested to know your thoughts.
Re customer numbers I'm working on 1 guy and van supporting 200 clients. Obviously to reach this number customer base will take time.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated
