Not seen it on decking before, surely all the slugs would sneak in?
I would think a concrete base is the best to use when ground space isnt needed for planting space
That's a good point about slugs....
also any spilled compost etc would end up going down the cracks and building up underneath
Thanks Chaps for your views, think we will slab it to the size as much as possible, should look nicer slabbed rather than just concrete.
if you go concrete or slabs you have somthing to fasten it down to to stop it blowing away in a gale
It's a marketing picture, the greenhouse they used for the photoshoot would probably be sold off afterwards.
Nobody in their right mind would site a greenhouse on decking, as Billybop says, you will get a build-up of material below. Also no ventilation of the timber frame or boards, so these would rot quickly as well.
At the least a concrete/brickwork plinth to secure it onto, if you want to use the soil inside as a growing medium.
