I am trying to source a short run of instant outdoor screen (probably ivy) in planters, but it needs to have a section that can be opened easily to allow mower access. I can find loads of screen suppliers, but no one seems to do the planted "gate" section that I need. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Hi, I was at Birchfeild nursery near henfeild today, and they had all sorts of portable screens as they are going into hiring out plant screens and rose arches for weddings............I am sure they could help..........
  • Andy,

Have a contact for this, but trying to remember their name????

    Market leaders, umm?

Will think and perhaps PM you in the morning, it's been a long day!!!

  • Thanks - still looking though. Andrew - if the panels didn't need to have live plants gowing up them, it would be that bloody obvious!

how are you getting on with this andy ?

would there be no way you could make up some bespoke screens your self with a planter at the bottom, you wouldnt need any thing super deep and heftey if your thinking of ivy as the screen filler

ive been googleing and cant see anything which would be any good for you

  • Still getting nowhere, Neal. I know I've seen the damn things, but maybe it was in a dream. I think I may have to resort to knocking something up myself as you suggest, or finding an alternative solution.
  • Could you not use two fixed angled sections that would allow access but appear to be solid ?
  • Ah-ha! You might be on to something there, big fella. Oh, the joys of lateral finkin...
