I hit the brick wall today. It happens from time to time, the base plan is plotted and the list of you’re your client’s requirements and photos of the garden are stuck on the wall in front of you, but nothing seems to work.I rubbed out all the lines drawn today, over and over and was left with a rather grubby piece of paper. Drank too much tea, walked around the garden like a teddy bear and not even iTunes worked very well for inspiration..Eventually came up with a tentative design this afternoon that I will look at again tomorrow, with a nice clean sheet of A1!Does anyone else hit brick walls?

    Yes Kerrie I do too.

I had the most productive weekend but this morning I had to collect Donna from Bergerac airport this morning. Came home, looked at the screen, went for a walk and I too drunk too much tea.

I did manage some work in the end and now totting up my tax liabilities :-((

You will feel better in the morning I bet.
  • Have a glass of pimms and a stroll round the garden!!
  • Hi Phil
Glad I'm not the only one but would rather be stumped by a plan than working out 'tax liabilities'.

Tomorrow's another day, as they say.......:))
  • Hello CoJo

Tried the garden, but not the pimms. Perhaps that combination would work!

Hope all is well with your new baby and all.
  • Story of my life!
  • I confess, my head has a permanent rectangular indentation.... working indoors, stepping outside for a cig and a game of tetris normally helps... maybe go indoors for a cig and watch Jeremy Kyle? My other favourite is getting perfect silence - sensory deprivation - even if that means the stationary cupboard with my eyes closed tight.... I've managed to freak out the Head of Internal Audit that way a couple of times....
  • Nothing sweeter than Jeremy Kyle with a fag, but just want to eat and drink pop in front of 'this morning' and 'loose women' on sky with repeats on UK Living during the day, no work would be done and don't fancy a stomach staple.

Umm, 'perfect silence', don't you have to be on holiday or something for that? Not really into sensory deprivation mainly because I don't have a stationary cupboard, just a draw which I can't fit into. Would like the opportunity to 'freak the head of internal audit, several times'. Now that sounds like fun!
  • I usually find a good old winge with Cat and a bottle of wine helps. Or go and do something completely unrelated to the task. Playing with Lego is always good...
  • Back at the drawing board at 9am this morning. I didn't need Pimms, garden walk, too much tea, sensory deprivation or lego. By this afternoon had completed THREE concept designs for the garden. Next client's plan is already on the board!

In the words of Gloria Gaynor, 'what a difference a day makes'.
