Patio Prices

Ive been asked to quote on laying a new patio.Obviously i want to make sure i quote a fair price, so was just wondering whether any one has a system in place for what they charge per sq metre?I was thinking about £60 per sq m, which includes materials and labour? Thanks in advance

  • Hi Karl
    Thanks for the info
When you actually add up materials one by one it adds up to more than what i first thought.
    Thanks for the info.

    Average patio 24 sq m

excavate, digger, cost for 1 day and a competant driver £150

    remove 200mm and place into skip (.2 x 24 = 4.8 cubic metres) £185 for your skip

bring in type 1 mot (3.6 cubic metres) £210 in bulk bags (6) or cheaper if loose

compact with a plate compactor (hire 1 day £45)

    install ground stabilization sheet (£24)

lay pavers onto 50mm wet mortar (1.2 cubic metres) £122.50

pavers £20 per sq metre (average) £480

when dry point either with cement or chemicals (£40 for chemical)

cost of materials £1256.50 plus vat

thats £52.35 per square metre, this will probably take 2 guys 3 days at labour £1200

    total 2456 plus vat

This is for an average patio project, pikies will do this for a lot less and you do get what you pay for! don't forget if you have quoted per metre you must also consider retaining walls if required and type of paving stone you are using as some cost much more that £20 per metre.

    I hope this helps
