Landscapes in movies

Good morning everyone,

Since it's Sunday...Which movie do you think best conveys a sense of landscape ?

I started this so I'm going to bag Jean De Florette you can almost feel the heat bouncing off the rocks, the warm wind on your face and the rustle of the drying grasses.....

Any chance nominations could be films we have half a chance of having heard of, I love the movies but get a bit lost on 1950's Korean shorts.

Over to you

J.

  • Yes - a good one, I always loved ' The Titfield Thunderbolt ' for its countryside, the actual location ' Monkton Combe ' is still very beautiful.

  • Ok have just been to the lake district so am going to have to say Miss Potter. Visited her real home and have some pictures of her garden to upload so seemed like the obvious choice.

  • How about "No Country For Old Men" ?

  • Forrest Gump and Lord of the rings
  • Far from the Madding Crowd would be my choice....Julie Christie, Terence Stamp, Alan Bates, Peter Finch. A beautiful film to look at. Remains of the day also.

PS I really like Judge Dredd too :)

  • PRO
Got to be pride and prejudice as a lot of it was shot 4-5 miles from me in the Peak District.

  • If it's going to be a city it has to be Michael Winterbottom's  ' Wonderland '
