Have you thought of contacting other importers?
We often have orders held up due to there only being half loads...

I assume you mean other UK retailers buying from the same European supplier?
I don't really know who else buys in the UK...do you import or buy from a UK supplier?
Corachie Clematis based in Taynuilt, Argyle, lease CC trollies (or they used to). Speak to Douglas Baird, the owner 01866 822266 or email corachieclematis@aol.com.
He should be able to fill you in.
Even if you are buying from the uk it's an absolute necessity to have CC trollies if you are dealing in any reasonable quantity of plants.
Are you looking to wholesale the plants on or sell them retail? I could point you in the right direction of a number of suppliers if you like?
Thanks for your reply!
Basically we are bamboo growers / retailers and looking to expand our product range (retail product range) and therefore looking for good quality suppliers of hardy ferns, hostas, tropical looking trees etc and some more bamboo which we don;t currently grow or retail.
I understand thaty the cc trollies are a complete necessity to buy from wholesalers in UK but trying to 'get on the cc trolley system' seems to be a nightmare - you can;t buy unless you have trolleys but can;t find where to get them! So I'll contact your guy in Argyle and get more info.
If you have some good supplier lists for plants that would be great (also looking for liner growers of bamboo...)

Probably more likely to get the kind of thing you're looking for from Notcutts though.
Be a bit wary of Dutch Nurseries though - as Richard rightly pointed out, they will only deliver if a (sometimes hefty) minimum order is met; also the stock can be a bit iffy in Scotland due to the way it is grown.
Growforth in Fife import stock from Italy which may be more up your street as they bulk order, allowing you to pick smaller amounts from their nursery. They deliver all over Scotland.
Can't help with the liners I'm afraid!

A bit of both, Pete goes direct to the Spanish growers, which is worth doing very competitively priced and once your find the right supplier some great products available. The only draw back is you need to speak Spanish but it’s a great excuse for a working holiday…
