have you looked for concrete manufacturers? I can get these far cheaper going direct to Concrete Products - must be something similar down with you somewhere.
Marshalls have been supplying councils with all sorts of paving for many many years and have a commercial range specifically for them.
This is available from Builders Merchants BUT you need the commercial not the domestic range.
There are 3 types of 450x450 standard grey slab, 50mm thick square edged, 50mm chamfered with Fibre Reinforcement and 70mm thick chamfered edge.
Hope this helps

Are the commercial range materials available at normal builders merchants nationwide i.e. Keyline, Travis Perkins, Jewson and M.K.M. etc. without major fuss and how favourable do their costs compare to the equivalent domestic products. Also, what is the most immediate way of viewing commercial products on offer? Is it via the Marshall's website (which I find very annoying/difficult to navigate by the way!) or by sending off for the product selector directory? Also, can a small, one man band operator order small quantities of commercial grade products (without an account and) without being 'hammered' on minimum order/haulage costs etc? I personally favour the use of commercial products in a domestic setting as I like clean lines etc.
