Jack Wolfskin have some wonderful products that have been developed for All-round weather protection and a high level of functionality. I would like to stock some of their items, the Vertec trousers (or Pants) have Kinetic stretch inserts on the sides, seat and knees, very useful for multi-tasking in the garden (or for treks in the Alps), they are also light, tough, water repellent and offer UV protection.

Excess moisture has to be chanelled to drain away and will not just evaporate.
