Cleaning an Indian Sandstone patio

Now before I get jumped on and told that there is a lot on here about this very topic i am not a newcomer to cleaning patios.

Over the last 3 years I have done over 200 and use a Karcher K4 and a Dirtblaster nozzles that I get from ebay, not the proper Karcher one that don't last very long. I spray the patios with a strong bleach that comes in 20l drums and I use at 4 or 5 to 1.

I do a bit of work for a small hotel that has 3 huts on a patio that people can eat in. Now the problem is the staff have grease from the kitchen floor on their shoes so now there is a triangle of grease on the slabs out side the huts. i have tried my bleach in the past and also scrubbing with detergent that is used in the kitchen.

The hotel is opening at the weekend and will be washing it nearly every week from now on, it would be nice to get it looking good for the start of the season.

Having worked in kitchens for many years I can say that bleach won't do it!
    You need a degreaser.
TBH I've forgotten now what we used.
Also one to try after a degreaser is beer line cleaner which while bleach based it has some other stuff in it which used to help on kitchen floors.

They have D9 in the kitchen but will need to try it on an off cut because it is a brown colour.

I don't know how I missed the sandstone bit if the title!
I think you need to be very careful.
Steve at London stone (he's on here) might know what is safe to use
  • From what I have seen on other cleaning forums, hot power washer using a rotary surface washer. No doubt somebody knowledgeable will be along soon.
