Etesia are supposed to be the dogs danglies but i've never tried one. They dont do roller mowers however, so if your customers want stripes then you better look elsewhere. I've never liked hayters so much and much prefer the honda's i currently have. I guess you are looking at something like a 17" with roller and powered drive. Dont know what the current honda line up is at this sort of size.
If you want stripes I would get a honda roller in 17inch size. If you don't then you have more choice and etesia would be a good bet. I had a wee hayter 41 for my own garden and hated it, now using the masport 22 inch machine even though my garden is only small.
I'm surprised you find such a small mower too big for gardens. The smallest lawn I cut professionally with the 22 inch machine is 7ft wide and 15ft long. Stairs and the like are negotiated using planks.
we use John Deere JX75 Mulcher and just brought Etesia 46 pro
the jx75 after the first couple of cuts at the start of season ,we then mulch rest of season a really good machine
brake clutch variable speed 18" cut very good finish
Etesia just started using, in the wet collection first class only thing i find the speed really lets it down i can push it quicker if knew it was that slow would have got the standard mower instead of the variable speed one and i find the handles very narrow, when the box is full its full

I've been toying with the above in the 19" or 21" model, a bit pricey, but I'm serious about the mulching at the moment. If it had a roller then I'd buy it tomorrow
hiya, yes an interesting subject... i've looked at various so far and am tempted to buy a new honda too, i agree they are pricey but look like quality kit. i read on my local honda dealer website that honda are running a cashback promotion 'until august' of £100 back, when you buy one of their core range. this would bring the price down a bit. i've emailed them to ask if this is still running.
I was tempted with the Hayter 48 but although they seem quite good, the single lever for height adjustment is very good. Most of the reviews I have read say that they are bad at picking up on wet or damp grass.
I use a John Deere with a rear roller belonging to a customer but I don't like it.
Etesia don't seem to do a rear roller mower.
I just don't know much about lawnflite but the local dealer was trying to push one into me the other day (could be painfull)
The Honda HRX476QX looks like the most likely to prize me of my cash at the moment.
What I could really do with is a large area of grass and a selection of machines to try.
Just been looking round the web and the Asuka mowers look pretty good for the price, blade brake and fan assisted collection, the lawnflite looks ok and so does the SARP however I don't know anything about any of these machines. Does anyone have any experience with them?
they are the same mower as lawnflte and danarm sarp all made by kaaz i have a lawnflite 553pro roller mower it is now in 4 year and had no problems so far at one time honda was selling them over here i am told . i think that my mower is doing around 100 hours a year .
