Berberis thorn ouch!

I have just had the pleasure of having a large berberis thorn surgically removed from the side of my ring finger after living with it for 6 months deep under the skin. The damm bugger been in there so long enough was enough and I took the plunge.. Now the fingers are very numm and wait for local to wear off.So has anyone else suffered with foerign objects in their hands, legs etc and had to resort to surgery to have it removed....A day doing paperwork now awaits....

  • My missus is an expert at removing deep splinters..... gets some sort of sadistic pleasure out of it I think lol! I'm surprised after 6 months it hadn't worked its way back up to the surface.
  • IN ALL MY YEARS THIS IS THE FIRST 1 I COULDNT GET OUT AS I PRIDE MYSELF ON MY SURGICAL ABILITIES, THIS ONE BURIED ITSELF DEEP AND FORMED A HARD SKIN CRUST OVER THE THORN THUS THIS WAS THE ONLY WAY....
  • That wouldn't have stopped my missus!!! That "crust" would have been cut away with a stanley knife until she could see the end of the thing....... don't blame you for opting for the anaesthetic approach though!!
