Arbour Design & Build are pleased to announce that we have recently received the award for completing 10 years on the Marshalls Register.

Since joining in late 2001 Arbour Design & Build have completed many hard and soft landscaping projects where Marshall's Quality products have featured.

Based on the Hertfordshire/North London Borders we are able to cover the surrounding areas with our professional landscaping & maintenance teams over seen by Richard Bickler.

Whether you would like SUDS compliant block paving installed, ethically sourced Indian sandstone patios laid we have the knowledge and skills to ensure that every installation is completed to the highest possible standards.

With regular assessment from the Marshall's team you are guaranted to be given all the technical and business expertise to build your Marshall's brand when focusing on using quality products from the Marshall's range.

We are able to offer a complete service from the initial design to the installation of your new garden, patio and driveway complete with a 10 Year Insurance Backed Guarantee.

A small project we completed last year can be seen below, from start to finish Arbour Design & Build make sure every detail counts to produce a patio and garden that the client can admire for years and give great enhancement and value to the home.

We had to remove all the old paving, excavate to around 30cm as the ground was so poor, install new drainage for the house and garden to a new soak-away. Once the new foundations, block walling and Fairstone pitched walling was laid we backed filled with crushed concrete compacted in layers, thereafter we poured a raft of concrete with mesh steel inset to provide a base of tremendous strength and integrity.

The client had deliberated for some time on the type of stone to use and after looking through many samples had decided to opt for the top of the range Fairstone sawn in golden sand multi colour laid on a full mortar bed using the 560cm x 560cm, 560cm x 275cm and 275cm x 275cm range with 8mm joints. The rear of all slabs were sealed with a white cement slurry to ensure that the cement from the laying course didnt work it's way through the paving surface and causing unsightly stains. At each stage of laying the slabs were kept clean with fresh water to ensure no surface staining.

The client had asked us to ensure the joint colour was the same as the paving so on this occasion we used a flexible and waterproof coloured grout supplied by Ardex to match perfectly, the client was really happy with his choice and the quality of the work completed.

The site was cleaned and tidied and handed back to the client.

Since completing the patio we have returned to install a new lawn, new planting and an automatic watering system, just a small selection of the work we at Arbour Design & Build can complete.

The clients' testemonial below makes us feel appreciated and a testement to what can be achieved as a Marshall's registered member.

We engaged Richard and his team to replace two fences, dig up, extend and replace a patio, remove all old trees and bushes and re lay a new lawn. His work is exemplary, to a very high standard and with the utmost attention to details. He employs an extremely hard working team and his ideas and communication skills made the entire job a pleasure. I have no hesitation in recommending Arbour Design & Build, you will not go wrong.

  • I think you're missing a point here. I think an even greater reason to congratulate yourselves is to still be in business after 10 years. I think the stats show that 80% of start ups fail in the first 5 years and then 80% of whats left fails in the next 5. Marshalls Register or not, you should be congratulated for that alone!

  • Dave, thanks for those kind words, been in business since 1995 just entering my 37th year on this planet and to be honest I wonder how it still all happens even today, life is what you make of it and never sit back and think work will come just like that..I look forward to that day it comes in without a site visit made, an estimate to produce, designs to inspire and so on.. so heres to everyone in 2012 doesn't mater if your a 1 person team or 100 strong, focus, apply and a little luck along they way its whats needed...
