once a weed killer has done it's job which is to kill the weeds do you then pull up whats left or do you dig it in

  • Ditto what pro gard said. Depends on what you're killing and where etc....
  • stinging nettles mainly there is no grass just earth which will end up being a veg plot
  • I'd just go for hiring a rotavator and churn it all up into the soil. You'll probably find that there will be seeds of the nettles in the soil so if you can get them dug quite deep into the soil they'll be much less likely to germinate. The dead material won't do anything but will rot down over the winter to help with the condition of the soil, although some well-rotted manure will definitely help to put some nutrients back into the soil.

  • Thats exactly what i would do i did it on my allotment i didnt have any probs in the spring

  • Just be sure the nettles really are dead before you dig or rotovate - they often need 2 doses of Glyphosate to kill them, and if you dig them in before they're well and truly deceased, you'll just end up spreading them around even more.
