Yellow Pages

Just had a call from a rep trying to sell me advertising space in the next isuue of yellow pages do you think this is money well spent or the local rag a better option any views would be welcome thanks

    It's always hard to tell. We had a reasonable sized ad in about 20 odd years ago and it brought in one job. More work from the free one liner - however they contacted us at end of june asking if we had a website and if so we could get it included in the one liner for £90 approx. We've had 4 jobs of it 3 small and one large so that has more than paid for itself you can also pay it monthly by direct debit at no extra charge - a bonus. As for the local rag placed roughly about the same time £67.00 for 5x3cm prominent position -only one enquiry and that was someone of was obviously getting another quote as she told my son when he went to visit that her friend's daughter's boyfriend was also a landscape gardener needless to say we never heard from her after the quote was sent.
