To anyone who has ever paid for advertising…

If you’re running your own gardening business, new or old I would really welcome your feedback, so if you have a few minutes to help me, please read on.

This is a genuine request to get your thoughts. The future success of my business could be determined by your comments and replies. I don’t want anyone to think that this is a back-door sales pitch to try and sell you my service. It’s not.

Historically, anyone offering marketing or advertising services to you – and there’s lots of them - would want you to pay them up front. There would be no guarantees and no promises, you would have to pay your money and cross your fingers. The risk would be ALL yours, but so would any potential reward.

However, when it comes to advertising, it’s incredibly hard to measure response and few things work as promised. I’m sure most people have, at one time or another, been ‘stung’ by poor performing adverts and have wasted lots of money.
You may have noticed a banner at the top of the site introducing my company, Per Call Ltd, telling you that we generate enquiries exclusively for your business and you only pay us when we do. (More info by clicking on the banner or by visiting our site directly by going to www.percall.net).

As far as we are aware, our proposition is entirely unique in the UK. We are the first company to truly put our money where our mouth is and offer our customers a “no calls, no charge” promise.

We provide our customers with far more than just enquiries, though. They get:

  • A fully optimised and personalised website for as long as they’re a customer
    • EXCLUSIVE enquiries which they answer themselves and which aren’t sold on to anyone else
    • A complete recording of every telephone enquiry and email we pass over to them
    • No charge for any phone call or email which turns out to be a non-enquiry
    • Statistics and monitoring, showing what they’ve had for the money they’ve spent
    • No upfront fees, charges or membership costs of any kind
    • No minimum term contract so they can walk away at any time if they wanted to

    Here are my questions:

To someone who has never heard of us, or indeed heard of a pay-per-call concept, how does our proposition sound?

    • Would you consider our pay per call idea a step up from Google's pay-per-click option?
    • Compared to other forms of marketing, does the no risk proposition appeal to you?
    • Does it appear to be a great idea which solves the problem of generating work through the internet?
    • Does it sound just too good to be true?
    • Would you be suspicious of such an idea and if so, why?
    • What reservations would you have about working this way?
    • What would you need in order to feel it was worth trying?
    • Do the testimonials on our site go far enough to satisfy you that the service works?
    • How would you expect or want to learn about our pay-per-call service?

That's a long email and I'm asking you plenty of questions, so thanks for reading this and getting this far.

If you could offer your thoughts, your feedback, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated as it will allow me to fine tune our message before marketing it to different tradesmen across the country.

Says it all, stop using your services the web site goes.
You should offer to let a client keep the web site or purchase it at a realistic price after they leave your service, this should be agreed at the onset

Mike, your website says 10,500 enquiries already generated. Surely you know the answer to those questions by now?

I'm afraid it does seem like back door advertising to me.

I don't see it as back door advertising, I see it as market research - what better way to ask others how they see the Per Call business than by asking trade practitioners?
