my local dealer -- s/w -- is currently open for servicing and repairs. As with other businesses around the UK -- seems to be inconsistancies around operating or not ! Supplies do appear to be coming in from Europe etc but its slower and there quite a backlog i was told this morning.
My dealer is open for spares here in north east Derbyshire [shop is closed of course] and they are ordering and getting spares from the various companies, Stihl, Stiga etc.
I ordered a Stiga transmission cable, which had to be ordered in, and they dropped it off at my house on Saturday afternoon. They are very good people to trade with.
Which reminds me, I must ring them up and pay for it.
There isn't much I can't repair myself. The above transmission cable broke and I had to use an old spare one I had, which was two inches too short [bless Stiga for needlessly changing the specs between a 2014 740 and a 2018 740], so I made an adaptor bracket to make it work. This is how we are going to have to roll at present. We have to be extra resourceful.
We have a mixed bag around here but Briants who are our main Stihl and Honda dealer are still open for parts and mail order of new machines.
Our local repair man (one man band) who we usually use for minor repairs and for parts has completely shut up shop.
Been having this problem this week.
I'm an Aspen user and hunted hi/low for it to point I ran out yesterday. Found two places open today and stocked up on Aspen, strimmer line and other essential items
