work in new area/Advertising?

Hi all,I know this is going over a few other topics again but I am hitting a bit of a brick wall at the moment.I am looking to try and get work in a new area nearby but am not sure how to go about advertising in the area.I am thinking about walking the streets and posting business cards through letter boxes as per a previous discussion but wondered if any one could give advise on how productive this is.Basically is this going to be the best and cheapest way or is there another area specific way of advertising??I use locally delivered advertising booklets for 2 other areas which do provide work but am looking for cheaper options at the moment.Any thoughts and experiences gratefully recieved.
