  • Hi Ian
I think it worth advertising. My first outside job, next Friday, is a maintenance for a garden we built last year. I have also been looking at my frozen garden and am keen to get someone in to hack tall hedges and fell some trees.

    New year, new garden!
  • Was ready to go but today I had three customers lined up, one lives on a slope..so no go there, one was mowing..ditto, and the last one wanted a hedge cut but by then I rebooked them all and instead serviced my chainsaw...

No harm in getting your name out there, I found a 4cm ad in the local free paper..ours is the Wealden Advertiser worked wonders, every where seems to have a local rag like this one that attracts far more attention for trades folk than any Local Observer/herald etc etc. Cost about £120 for 5 weeks if I remember rightly and saves you legging it about with leaflets ! I only needed about 3 months before the ad was cancelled and the work has been coming ever since (well over a year)..

Don't worry about this end of the year, there is still plenty to do, one good blow and it's fixing fences and fallen trees or late border clearing, still hedges to do, trees to prune, roses etc..

Tomorrow I'm due for a days work, but looking at it I'll probably rebook them too, relocating trees & shrubs in this weather won't do them any good what so ever !! so I'll wait for it to warm a little so as not to be blamed for killing them all ;-)

Keep at it as soon as we get a warm day people will be out there and it will kick off at speed !
