Where do you get your outdoor clothing from ?

I know we all have our preferred types of outdoor gear to suit our personal styles/needs, but wonder where do you shop and why ? Are the prices good ?

Talking about gnerally buying boots, trousers, T/Polo shirts, sweatshirts, fleeces, waterproof gear etc.

The reason ?, we went into that 'big blue' warehouse supplier where you need a 'discount' card to get the 'sale' prices. Great array of outdoor gear (not much safety stuff) at some good prices. We eneded up buying some neat waterproof jackets at an amazingly good price (under £20 each)

Just curious about who shops where ( not brands or what we each wear...too peronal a choice...)

Ditto. That and Decathlon for polo shirts and fleeces.

I mainly shop at a industrial unit just behind the garage where I used to work as they have the biggest array of work wear and safety gear in the area, covering the needs of all the local builders, carpenters, chefs and factories. They carry literally hundreds of different boots, wellingtons, gloves, all kinds of workwear, high vis, tools and waterproofs...Lots of different brands, Dickies, Portwest, Makita, Silverline...Local, knows his stuff, eager to help you, let you try stuff and will order virtually anything if it isn't in stock.

Mainly Dickies stuff for me cos its cheap and cheerful - although saying that quality appears to have dropped in recent years, with stitching on trouser pockets and boots being particular issues. A company I used to work for issued us with Timberland site boots - great boots but in my opinion far too heavy for daily wear.

This reminds me actually - I need some new Dunlop Purofort steel toe capped safety wellies now its getting to winter time - mine leak after 3 years as I found out today whilst strimming a drainage ditch!

Very good quality and quick delivery.

  • But they do hardly any ladies clothes, - and they hound you with magazines every 2 weeks.

If anyone knows anywhere that does a decent range of larger size ladies clothes (16-18), please let me know.
