    In March, Scotts Professional launched a new pre-emergent herbicide that protects against regrowth on gravel and soft surfaces.

    Applied post-emergence, ProShield is rainfast within one hour and gives rapid knockdown and kill to a broad range of problematic weed species whilst its barrier action prevents germination for up to six months.

    I looked this up as I'm always looking for more efficient methods of controlling my weeds. It appears to be a combination of Glyphosate and what they call "capa" over here which is great if you don't want to grow anything on the same ground for the next four years. Working from the dilution and coverage table for a knapsack, the cost would be about £112/Hectare (a typical job for me) and I'd have to refill with 10 litres 100 times :-O (unless I've got my maths wrong) so I think it will be a case of carry on "as is" unfortunately. It costs me about a tenner with Glyphosate by the way.
