Might want to make the fonts a little larger, some people might find it hard to read especially with a dark green on a light green background.
Look to get your address and an idea of some of the locations you cover in there, as people will often search on the phrase "type of trade in somewheresville".
Also give each page it's own individual title so that search engines know exactly what each one is about.
Hope this helps.
When I clicked on your portfolio nothing came up. That is the one section which is always viewed by potential clients to see what you do/have done. Looks good otherwise:)
It looks pretty good, simple and clear.
I think that could do with bigger typefaces, as Craig says.
The range of green colours in your site comes up with a yellow tinge in my screen. The RHS website appears more placid in this respect:
http://www.rhs.org.uk/
Personally, In websites, I always look for the Resources link, to see what useful "freebies" and insights I can find, it tells me about the author's level of committment to communications.
I hope this is helpful.
Your site looks really good:-0)
I would almost certainly get your own images onto the site rather than the marketing ones you have used. A photo of you will also go a long way.
All the best
Phil
the site looks fine but your code lacks any key word /phrases and you may fancy adding your location in the title tags too if your targeting local work
regards chris
I think site layout looks smart too and agree larger font plus photo of you. Perhaps prominant shot of you working in interesting setting and instantly show personal connection with what you do. Image portfolio vital. Updating the site would be better in terms of browser rankings.
Good luck with it
Helen
its toooo small
i cnt read it / view and im only 35 yeards old........
there are no-pictures !
it looks like a format/free web-site
i would not pay for thet its a template joe blogs could do - maybe £50 to a freind.
i hope its not done by a business !!
£100 ems internet did me one loads better 3 yrs ago.............my brother did mine for my birthday (£75?) a year ago:
www.gardens4u.co.uk .... basically make it more individual and bigger / more of your job photos/custiomers gardens . ok / rob
On the plus side it's neat and the logo is good but as others have pointed out, the font used is much too small.
I also don't understand why so little of the viewing area is being used, make it wider and it will easily accomodate a larger font. Also, you should also avoid orphan words sitting on a line - I think there are three on your home page. Any professional designer should, in my view, also provide for some basic SEO work - keywords, page description at a minimum.
On a design point, third para is far too big - white space is your friend for ease of reading.
When you come to rewrite the text don't forget it's all about benefits to the customer not your CV - there are other parts of your site that will list services, and you can have an about us tab - the home page has to grab interest very quickly, so tell me what you can do for me in as few words as possible "experienced craftsmen, cost-effective, high class garden solutions" "low-cost regular maintenance plans", "a beautiful garden for less than you think", this sort of thing plus anything you might have that you think is unique (in a positive sense!) about you and your firm, "Silver Gilt at Chelsea" type of thing.
Lastly, a picture is, of course, worth a thousand words.
Good luck,
Best,
Steven
Hi guys
Good evening to you all. Please peruse my refurbished site and let me know the good and bad.
Please note this is my first look at the test site today too so I have given some alterations which I'm sure you'll pick up on too.
Many thanks in advance.
