i am sure the trailer will take the weight, thats what they are built for, but the problem would be if you got pulled over from the police or vosa, and depending on what you are pulling the trailer with, and do you have a watse liecence if you are taking away treda waste of any kind?
if its 1 tonne you are overloaded. i doubt it will take a tonne in volume anyway .... i have one. is it 6x4ft?
750 is max thats why it says 750kg ! is it gross? ie minus trailer weight??. not worth the trouble.
as above if you put a ton on it you will be over weight, dont take a chance its not realy worth it
If you are planning on carrying larger loads, get a bigger trailer.
i am assuming it is unbraked, so sounds like an accident waiting to happen if you ever had to stop it in an emergency.

The trailer is rated for about 580kg max load, so putting 1000kg on it could lead to trouble. There are trailers rated to 1.5T gross, if you have adequate vehicle pulling capacity and licence to cover it. If not, then start getting the bags delivered to site. You could lose out big time with one simple pull by VOSA.
Personally I find it more cost effective to get bags of soil delivered rather than me spending the time and fuel going to collect.
I'm fully aware that back in the day someones trailer was being overloaded by up to double its carrying capacity with no damage to it. Its still in fine fettle carrying out "light duties" to this present day.
I wouldn't advocate it though, so much can go wrong. You can be involved in an accident even if its not your fault and your arse wont touch the ground. Then there's traffic police, vosa and the real possibility that something could fail on the trailer. Its just not worth it.
As regards this, as people have said, don't do it!!
The tyres on the trailer will only be rated for the maximum load that it is supposed to carry - overloading them for ANY period of time risks causing a 'blow out' - complete tyre failure may lead to loss of control, the trailer turning over etc.
There was an accident in my local town some years ago when an overloaded trailer lost a wheel (due to the bearing collapsing with the excessive weight) - the loose wheel flew down the road and KILLED a pedestrian.
Maximum rated load is there for a reason!
when i just started out doing a few odd gardening jobs i had a wee halfords 4x5 mickey mouse trailer that probably only held about 500kgs! One day i was removing top soil and i didnt realise how much it weighed, i now realise i probably had a bout a ton in it, i got about 200m down the road and both tyres blew out, the axle split in the middle and even the sides of the trailer bust open!
DONT OVERLOAD YOUR TRAILER!!!
Thanks for the advice lads. I had a ton of topsoil on it along with mesh sides on friday and kinda knew i was risking it. After your posts i wont be doing it again. I will have to look into a bigger trailer and in the meantime get stuff delivered to site. Many thanks
