The Spiritual Gardener that builds the Sacred is You

I think its a good time, not only of the year but with all the current troubles to ask everyone why they garden.For me I get a real high out of combining plants and natural materials to create this harmonious and lovely whole. I try and copy God to my best abilities. I think of pure untouched nature and how that once looked and I try to recreate it. And I do this with a place in it for the people. THEN I get this super big buzz when my client says 'I love it' and when I see them out there pottering or sitting drinking wine with their friends. And when those plants burst into bloom, and over a period of years blend together well and just look better and better and the birds and butterflies and animals and children clearly enjoy it ... then I proudly say 'I did that!'Its when I see people smiling I know I've done my job .... how many of you have had clients say 'you have changed my life' because you made their weed bed a place they can play with the baby in the sun amongst the flowers... I've had it a few timesThis is deep spiritual work! Lighting people up is the best thing one can do ... and to do it in a way that requires deep humility in the face of the reality of nature .. that is prayer!And the gardens we build are Sacred because its where people go to meditate and smile and get together and enjoy each others company ...Thats why I garden ... what about you?
