The positive approach...

After a period of negativity, its good to see really positive threads appearing. Everyone is looking to see how the current and future situations will effect them and their businesses. It's clear it will have an effect, but how much really depends on your outlook. It's good to see people looking at their business image, taking note of costs, asking how others are dealing with it, how to advertise better, what to wear to present a professional image, identify what services can be offered and charged by job and not per hour. I know that Mr Voice is due to start a good blog today, so I will be digesting it over a cuppa and considering what we need to do. I am so up for helping, discussing any topic that has a positive slant. I've just come back in. Soaking, muddy but in a really good mood because, irrespective of the weather, we've just done a job to help a customer out who was absolutely delighted a/ we could do it, b/ we could do it now, c/ knew they would get a good job done....And it paid. If we all accept the doom and gloom, you might just as well shut up shop now....

  • we all need encouragement at times. its hard working alone (as steve does). and i agree the cost of a new mower inc finance, storage, servicing etc does take a long time to re-coup £500 = 100 lawns just to get money back !!

on a positive note - (if u have nothing positive to say -dont bother saying owt') !

i have plenty of work on @ £150 a day (inc waste away sometimes) and 2 weeks waiting for clients also.

i know gardensurgery and kerry jackson are at full capacity too.

neglected gardens/bad or busy summer = loads of work ....... :)

    John,

It's absolutely fine to gauge oppinions - it helps us all make comparisons and decisions.

What comes out of your threads is that you are upbeat and intend to make the best of the situation.

We all have doubts and worries about our businesses, money, health and importantly families.

What upsets me from other threads is continual sniping & negativity that sends ripples of discontent thru everyone's efforts to survive in these potentially difficult times.
