Teaching children about plants

HiOver the past few years we have been giving talks to children at local schools on plants/ planting.We normally use herbs as smell and touch, venus fly traps ( they love that ) and plant a seed in individual pots. We then finish off with a talk about what makes the seed grow into a plant.Has anyone else done this it would be great to swop any ideas.RegardsMartin

    I haven't but was approached 2 years ago to do a couple of things to do with Dobbies membership events. Would be interesting to see what ideas others have. Great way of putting name out there and giving to community. I'll have a think and post later with some ideas I have. 2 nieces and nephew just arrived today for the rest of the week so gotta go sort them out just now. We shall see what state I'm in by end of week...!!

    Hi Martin,
    Have you checked out soil association they have useful resources areas for schools. There is also the school grounds charity ' learning through landscapes' and in Scotland it is 'grounds for learning'. If I think of any more I'll pass them on.
