We once had a garden with no drainage available so we just went down, in about 5 different spots, the standing water issues disappeared overnight.
I think I'm right in that the legislation still applies in rear gardens also, or am I mistaken.
If the property is pre 1920s then a soakaway must NOT be installed as water and zero damp course do not mix,and the soakaway needs to be 5m away from the property,
the legislation came into effect on the 1st Oct 2008 and applys to front of property only, the legislation does not apply to the rear of the property, you can verify this by logging on to the governments site, i'll post this and find it for you
