Sunken fire pits and hideous garage wall

Help-l cannot seem to find a fire pit with a cover that would be level with paving-any ideas. Also l have a 7 meter garage walll which l cannot plant against (only place for patio) -has anyone had experience of exterior mirrors-thinking of using trellis with large pots for climbers and mirrors-any other ideas greatfully received. Many thanks for any help-Jilly

  • Not much to suggest except that acrylic mirror is much lighter and cheaper than glass.
  • I'm thinking about a similar thing at moment - will build the fire pit underground in stone (keep some heat hopefully) and then get a cover made to fit locally.

Quite a few mirrors available and work well outside.

I've created planting pockets in paving before - did it against a garage wall. I build walls underground as a pocket for the soil - this will hold back the bottoming and make sure the roots don't disturb the paving. It was just climbers I used, wouldn't put anything too big in there as its just the same as a pot really. Make sure there's drainage in there.
  • Hi Jill - what about woolly pocket wall planters -can secure to any wall or fence easily - most container plants are suitable - here is a picture

  • also the suken BBQ - what about digging a hole below the pavers and have supported decking - it would need to be a large area - also need fire retardant on decking here is an example
