    I would dig it up, dry it and use it (providing it isn't rotten and will lift without disintegrating). Some lovely knurls and knots in the wood. I wouldn't leave it in its current location though.
  • Cheers for the replies. I was thinking more along the lines of bird table or digging it out and putting plants in it but the general consensus seem to be to get rid!

     

    I like your idea Phil as it is quite a "pretty" stump. 

  • Take a chainsaw to it and form a chair with a high back (like a throne) - kids love it!

    BTW with the dimensions of it I would sub someone in with a big self powered  vermer type grinder  rather than hire a walk behind one.
