No you don't need a licence but under PUWER 1998 like any other power tool from a mower upwards you do need training before you use it.
  • This incident was raised on the arbtalk website (a tree-surgeons site analogous to this one_). The thread on there provides more detail and information.

Again, a good reason why we should always be careful.

Another thread worth reading is: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/11652-good-friend-mine-his-...

This details what can happen to us with a tool we use almost daily! Lets all be careful and respectful of our tools.
  • Your right there, this shop is only about 15 min from where i live and the service they offer is fantastic, very knowledgable, friendly and professional and best of all i have never seen any other supplier as cheap as them.
And if your tools go wrong they will always fix them too.
They have a website now and post to anywhere in the uk, i would recommend anyone on here to take a look. You never know it might save you a few quid!

Stanton hope are comparablee to FR jones in price and service, they have had my custom for the last 10 years excellent service no matter a £1200 order or a £1 sprocket retaning ring that is needed yesterday.

Thankfully i have used them since before Stihl changed the suplier policy so I can still buy over the phone.

  • You should be trained, at least by the supplier.
