Hi Kerry
I may be speaking out of turn - don't know loads about earthworks - but my first thought would be to use a trommel/screening machine for a job like that.
3000t at 1t/bucket would be 3000 buckets full- would take ages with shaking each load! with a big machine as above you'd just have to load it. Many/most have tracks so can be moved about to work area...?

The only time I have used a riddle bucket was on a site to sift out the granite setts that had been lifted and were being sold on and the less soil/spoil the better the price per tonne.
It was about 8 years ago though and I have no idea of the cost sorry.
Is this what its for Kerry??
HI Andy
Deficiently not speaking out of turn, infact, your talking my language....Wow what a tool....I do have a sub soil, rammed earth sifter my self, I believe my sifter is too small for the project.

Hi Peter
Thanks for your prompt attention
I'll give Richard Cooper at Cotswold Recycling a bell tomorrow and see what he can do....must admit I like what I see with the trommel/screening machine...however what ever recycles the largest quants at the quickest rates has my wholesome interest.
Thanks for your attention
Kerry
can you hire a larger / tractor from a contractor and screener for the day to get the job done -
just an idea (thinking big)
http://www.arrichards.co.uk/Headings/Recycling/materials_recycling_...
this local farmer turned business man does it near us ...... maybe cheaper /quicker . good luck kerry.
Hi George
I wish it was for recycling granite setts, I require a cut and fill to an area on Dartmoor Devon, the fill is 3k ton and the recycled granite will face off an 18 inch retainng wall, 51 lm x 2m high, so I need plenty of fill and granite...no point importing when the whole area is sat on a belt of granite...
regards
Kerry
Always open to options Rob
I'll be on it in the morning
