why not join the resin surfaces project group and tell us about your experiences.

  • Hi Stuart,

i love the stuff. Its so understated, not chavvy like so many other paving materials. I dont think the buying public are really aware of it as an option. Sorry, not a designer or drive layer but would push it if i was.

    Mike.

  • Hi Mike

Apart from other installers you seem to be the only person here who is aware.

  • Hi Stuart,

I haven't used resin bound surfaces yet, but expect to in the near future.... can anyone suggest an indicative unit rate (installed price per sq m) for estimating purposes?

I'm a design only practice, so I'm preparing estimates to (try to) ensure contractors' quotes are within the client's budget, not to price a job.

(By way of example, I would use say £60-65/m2 for tarmac, or £40-45/m2 for gravel, installed all-in prices for ballpark estimating, including contractors costs, profit, VAT, etc..  including excavation, geotextile if needed, granular sub-base, etc.. )

Resin surfacing is a decorative bespoke product,so prices vary depending on specification.

if the client has a  existing concrete or tarmac substrate resin surfacing is competitive against tarmac and loose gravel.

when the client has no prepared surface, the cost becomes uncompetive because a solid polypropylene grid or concrete or tarmac substrate has to be installed before the decorative surfacing is laid over it.

if you would like more specific prices for clients in the north of england, dont hesitate to contact me

  • I am thinking to replace some rather-too-flowing japanese gravel 'seas' for a client with a resin bed, but don't really know where to start with sourcing...
  • Greentech sell this product in bulk/kit form, mostly for infill for tree grilles. give us a call on 01423 332100

I've just completed my first Resin job last week. It was a patio and paths around a house, replasing BS flags, I did the digging out, laying the kerbs, putting in a sub base, and new lawn whilst another company came in and put the resin finish down.

I've got to say i'm very impressed with it, like Mike said before, it looks classy and expensive.

My client is very happy with the finished product, so I would like to hope i'll be using it again in the future.
