    Hi James,

I think it's great that you are getting work from this source, but my initial comments would be, that if you are getting 8 out of 10 jobs, then you are quoting too cheap ?

Just don't end up being 'a busy fool' making no money and working all hours. However, only you know you cost base and what you need to run a profitable business.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there are stats that suggest if you achieve a 1 in 3 rate then that is good.

We have struggled to get quality leads down here in the s/east - maybe regionally it is different, but now we do not use such sites. Maybe we will look again in the future.
  • Hi Thanks for your reply,

Yes i would say that i have done a few of the jobs a little to cheap but others i have made a nice profit on,i guess at the end of the day different things work for different people and like you say it depends on location to

  • Well done for winning the work, I use rated people if i get a quiet spell. The one thing that I don't like is that the potential customer isn't made aware that the tradesmen have to pay for the leads, in landscape construction this can be as much as £25 plus vat, also they imply that only 3 people get to buy the leads, nonesense, last one I went for there were 5 of us pricing it. If i get one out of 3 then I'm happy, it deffinately is a good source of leads when your quiet or starting out.

I had an email from above saying they did not have enough gardeners, don't think there is any charges but don't know how you can quote without seeing garden.
