Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance

I’m starting up a Garden Design business, design only. An old post on here and elsewhere recommend Simply Business, I don’t know exactly which types of cover I need and at what level so having initially done an online quote with them guesstimating what I needed I tried 3 times speaking to someone at Simply Business to get advice, I’ve been cut off, had poor connection at their end, a disinterested respresentative and not being called back twice. The quotes I get from them online are about £450 pa. Hiscox have excellent reviews for customer service but the quote is £600pa because of lots of non optional extras. I don’t want to go for the cheapest to find I can’t rely on them when I need them but I don’t want to pay over the odds either. Any advice? Many thanks

    Karen, I use PACE WARD in Stoke on Trent, excellent professional broker that know their job will advise as  to the most appropriate cover. Simply Business and Hiscox - no comment ! You will find Pace Ward on Google - see their reviews on Trustpilot. Good old fashioned personal service and no faceless call centre, hope that helps.

    I use Towergate.... catch is you only know how good they are if you have to claim... which I never have :)

    Try A-Plan, they are brokers. Tell them what you need & they will bend over backwards to help. I have all my insurances with them now. Ps. Mention my name & I get a £20 voucher as well lol.

    We do garden design, soft landscaping and garden maintenance.  After trying various companies and brokers, and never feeling certain that we were being insured, we found MFL

    The Pro Indemity was £140 and the Public Liability was £126, I highly recommend them for their professional attention to the detail.
