  • Good question. If you put in some time researching to get the list then there should be some kind of charge, but if it's just a list of general types that you can rattle off from the top of your head then don't charge.
  • I charge between £75 and £150 for lists depending on the type and size of border. The secret to getting money for the time it takes to research properly is in the presentation, - I provide a listing with name, suggested pot size, number needed for the border & what price it should be, (which they can take to a garden centre if they desire) and I also provide a listing with pictures of the plants and descriptions, so that they can visualize what it will look like.
  • you can also put your own price for supply - make it a little cheaper than the garden centre (not difficult with wholesale prices) and you could then get to supply them too - and possibly even then get paid to plant them!
