No true , it's hardly a victory if it is that but it's just gonna be a lawn ,so I guess it could be mown out eventually. Hasn't houtynnia got spaghetti like roots though??
Ah, maybe. I was looking at the foliage.
Could be Lysimachia ciliata ‘Firecracker’ or similar ? But picture looks more focused on skin than the foliage
clumps spread in herbaceous borders

Isn't firecracker a darker blacker leaf??...smaller more pointed???.. nice plant mind.. again I'd be happier if it was our suspect!!

If it is houttuynia it will smell when nruisednor crushed, a smell I hate.
