There is a crowd called 'landscape supplies ni' doing this kind of thing between bangor and ards but i have never seen another outfit. They also keep a smattering of various paving, rockery stone etc but i have found that they are simple a middle man for that stuff and can easily be cut out by going to emerson direct. They have screening set-up and produce real nice quality top soil and also do all of the decorative stone, grades of bark etc. It is a godsend when you need a half ton of decorative stone or ton of topsoil loose etc.
It may well be something that would work well if you have lots of rent free space! Good luck but unfortunately a bit far for me to come from Holywood.
Hey Simon, have been down to 'Landscape Supplies NI', off the Bangor / Conlig Road at N'ards before. Plenty of stuff about there and very useful for those landscapers based on the Ards pennisula.
Was ordering gravel and building stone from Norman Emerson last week and they no longer supply bark products.
Andrew,
I believe you could be onto a good thing, if you could find a suitable, well located yard. Being based in ards, I use the Landscape Supplies ni regularly. They are well located and provide a good service. Being on a main road they have great exposure, but it always amazes me that none of my clients have ever gone in there. they are happier paying double and more for the same stuff in the garden centres. If you could attract the commercial guys and the general public you would do very well IMO.
