Joint advertising

Has anybody tried advertising jointly? eg 2 businesses take 1/2 page and share cost

or 2 businesses pay for a flyer drop, share the jobs

I realise it can be difficult working out the split if they are "large" jobs, but something in small chunks, like lawn mowing, you could just take alternate leads.

  • Probably best John, I just wanted to canvass opinion. Just that a "campaign" is a lot cheaper in bulk, then there's "too much work" all at once. (If there can be too much work)
  • I agree, it is all about trust.
    • I agree. I wouldn't just pick any company. In my opinion it needs to be one that operates on the same ideals as yours - customer service, quality of finish etc. I have good working relations with a couple of other landscape firms locally that I trust and do pass work back and forth.

My good friend and neighbour runs a successful hair salon next door. We have discussed joint advertising before. Just never got round to doing it and did our own campaigns last time. In many ways is more straightforward doing it yourself, but definitely worth discussion with one or two.

  • my plan next year is have a load of flyers printed and at the end of each day or if its raining too heavy to work i'll park up in a nice area and tramp round with a box of flyers. for what it may cost maybe £100 - £200 if i get one or two new clients from it then it should be worth it
