Ive looked at this but I cant imagine passing a client your phone and inviting them to punch there pin number into it. I know what I would say :-/
Why, it's exactly the same as paying for a meal in a restaurant.
I certainly wouldn't spring it on a client. First thing to do when signing up for any mobile card reader payment service is to write to all of your clients and explain what the service is and what it does.
I'd put a section on my website too so that new clients will already be conditioned to expect card transactions as an option.
There's plenty of information explaining the security features on the iZettle website, for example.
I think clients are getting much more tuned into mobile devices and methods of convenience...I reckon mobile payments will become huge in the future.

We like the idea - but not sure whether we like the fact you have to pay a percentage per transaction... hmmm..
Have to say - there's a real push recently in providing these payment solutions which is great for small businesses. I guess the devil's in the small print as to who's best in what situation with what commission.
I expect somewhere (ie Which?) will do a round-up of these highlighting the pros & cons to help us poor lay people understand.
Can't believe the number of cheques we still get ....
If only the customers I worked at I could get a mobile phone signal, what happens with them??!!!!

i'm working with a company that uses I-zettle, and as far as i know the customer doesn't put a pin number into your phone, - they put their phone number in, and then they get sent a link to a website, and they do all the transaction details online. - You will pay a percentage whoever you use.
I think we have decided to only use this method if the customer is caught short... not sure if its practical with big sums of money as the percentage would be to high and then we would have to charge the customer that percentage... ok on small jobs i think.. I think bank transfers or good old fashioned cheques are the easiest, simplest FREE way forward.
We just thought to order one while it was free in-case it came in handy at any point.
Is the SumUp advert on this page similar to izettle?
I had a company onto me a few weeks ago, they wanted to charge me £30 per month, plus a 30p transaction charge every time it was used.
If you look here...

You will see how I have marketed it.
Some of the other members here will probably already be aware of my method of marketing iZettle.
We would rather take a 2.7% hit than risk loosing money or even continually chase up debtors.
You have to look at your target client base and also on how you operate as a business. We have incorporated iZettle to allow us to expand in other directions.
iZettle is the new way we will deal with money. As checks slow down these new technologies move forward.
Here in Germany we also make a lot of payments direct into bank accounts. For example I will have my bank details on my invoice then the client has all the payment options in the world!
To summarise iZettle. iZettle is a trendy up beat company making payment fun. I predict our clients will want to use it just once or twice, then tell there friends.
If any of you use or are considering iZettle, then be aware that they have recently updated the online portal to provide more features for the end user.
Further to this English Sheep are now featured on the iZettle web site.
