I was asked today to repair a half slab step that has come off. Quite a common request. Usually I buy my cement in full bag quantities, and it's just not worth opening up one and making a mix for such a small job.  Does anyone know of a good, ready mixed, ready to use product, available in small quantities, that would be suitable for jobs like this (and the odd loose brick in a wall)? It needs to withstand very hard frosts (like the one we had this morning!).

Thanks

Agree with pro here premixed will work out very expensive, if you want it to set fast just add some rapid hardner.

Buy mastercrete (sold in waterproof sacks) and cable tie the sack shut. It will keep fine.

The instant moartar will work out far more expensive.

  • How about using a bag of slab layer from lafarge. As it is already mixed and if not all used can be re sealed with a cable tie as Paul suggests.
