Pushing my dads mower through the streets at 16. Im 45 in a couple of weeks.
Started off with a hatchback Datsun Cherry........ took all the seats out other than mine. Had an old Suffolk Punch cylinder mower and a Stihl hs61 hedgecutter + the usual hand tools. All fitted in quite nicely.
Made redundant from garden centre landlords sold for housing so set up to be my own maintenance round and be my own boss at 30
used my own tools and spent my redundancy on second hand mowers and other machines
good advice don’t buy new incase it’s not your bag or doesn’t viably work out
invest in new when u know it’s working for you
bought an old transit for £1600 lasted 18 months
with life skills and a passion to make it work I sailed through
ten years later best decision ever and now cracked commercial market too
go for it it’s worth the effort
Thanks for the advice, I will have to start small as I will still need to work full time in the beginning to support my family untilI have enough regular work to sustain us. Not sure how I am going to manage that yet until I get the work but I'm determined and willing to fit it in wherever I can. Maybe just doing lawm cuts to start with.

I’m currently on a 1.2 vw polo a free champion push mower a b&q strimmer made by homelite which was also free and I’m very impressed with homelite nice power compares to low end stihl, a robin blower starts first pull no choke or priming it’s old and ace
got a low end stihl kombi hedge cutter and a hs 81 second hand
last year me and a mate done a job in a hatchback and took away a double mattress a single mattress a rocking horse a paddling pool two prams and all the green waste from a small over grown garden I had to put the mower box in the footwell put my feet in it and ride passenger with a stuffed tall bucket of grass clippings on my lap while my mate drove us to the next job
That is brilliant. When did you start? If you dont mind me asking. Have you found anyone is put off when you arrive in a car? I ask because I would probably be starting out in a Mondeo myself, just interested to know if customers are that bothered?
Cheers
