You might be interested the figures from a recent survey? "Forty-eight percent say that they would expect to get at least £50 a month knocked off of the monthly rental charge if the garden was untidy and forty-five percent of potential buyers would expect at least £5,000 knocked off of the sale price if it didn't meet standards." It might be worth putting flyers through doors with For Sale signs if you feel the garden looks like it needs a bit of attention? You could add a quote from the article do help bring your case to the home owner that a tidy garden would help sell or rent out their property.

    Got 2 of my regular jobs doing exactly this, one was actually the new owner who called me following a tailored letter that I sent after seeing the roadsign for '11 acre country estate for sale'!
