I can get a 6 ft step ladder in the back of my vauxhall astra hatch back but I could not get the said 6ft ladder in the back of my small van owing to the bulk head so it had to go on the roof bars .
Without bulkhead 6ft step ladder would have gone in easily but my van was the smallest commercial vehicle available Citroen Nemo , Same ladder however did fit in a vauxhall combo with bulkhead no problem .
12 ft henchman easily fit neatly on roof of Citroen Nemo with no over hang .
You can always try a ladder diagonally.
It will depend on your current set up , what is your current arrangement regarding carrying ladders ?
Hi thanks for your reply it was the bulk head that was thoughing me off its the combo swb i have aswell i was trying to get away with not getting roof bars on dont want to keep them on all the time and waste unnecessary fuel wasted or take them off the van every time i dont need them
I have a Nissan eNV200, and my 6 ft Henchman just fits with the legs on the lowest setting
That would be idea think the combo is just a wee bit smaller than the nv200
Hi Dougie
My Henchman ladder's just over 6feet tall/long - it JUST fits diagonally in my 2016 Vauxhall Vivaro SWB van. ( There is a bulkhead fitted in the van ). My previous van, an 07 plate Vivaro was about 3cm shorter inside, and the ladders only just fitted in diagonally.

Thanks thats good to know definitely wont fit in my combo will need a roof rack
Remember that you can just slide the feet out of the legs if storage is really tight - might make a difference.
I never knew you coukd do this could be a idea
I fit a 12' and 8' henchman ladder in my van strapped to the inside. Fantastic ladders..
Funny question as it depends on the van. And if the ladder is the only thing you want in and if you have racking
