They get battered in our van but stand up to alot of punishment.
We also use solo knapsacks but like you said we needed somthing a little smaller and the hozelock fits the bill.

Changeable nozzles, pressure regulator, and decent length pipe and wand. Plus it'll sit nicely on a hook at the side door :o)
I have used the sprayer about a dozen times and the verdict is excellent. There is not a flimsy part on this sprayer; everything feels right and makes sense. I now use it more often than the knapsack due to the speed of set up and ease of use. The trigger has a really good lock switch that you can set to stop it spraying in the van if squashed up against something, and you can likewise lock it on if you wish while spraying.
The main screw cap to fill the reservoir is solid and has a very stable feel without wobbling while unscrewing. I think the threads are decent.
The bottle itself has a pressure relief valve that you pull to release before storing it or unscrewing the cap.
It comes supplied with a fine red nozzle so you'll need to fit a green one if using it for what we typically use. I can highly recommend this little bit of kit as it's bound to save you time and hassle.
