  • Primo maxx as far as I recall. Not cheap!
  • And here is the product info..........

PRIMO MAXX works by blocking the production of gibberellic acid late in the cycle – which effectively limits cell elongation. The result is to shorten the distance between the shoot nodes, leading to more compact growth. Whilst the vertical growth is slowed, both root and lateral growth are boosted creating stronger, healthier and denser turf.

    Contains: 12.5% w/w trinexapac-ethyl

    MAPP: 09254
    Pack Size: 500ml & 5 litre
    Application Rate: 0.4 L/ha - 2.4 L/ha
    LERAP: U

As Paul said - ideal for sloping banks and your own lawn :-)
  • There used to be a growth regulator for hedges called Cutlass – I used it once on privet which then only really needed cutting once a year (the customer bought it – not me!) – anybody know if there's anything available for hedges now?
  • I believe it was called Cutless - as in you cut it less

You will get an amount of greening from Primo Maxx so no need to use high N feed. If you have a basis reg then using Moddus works out cheaper as it is twice the strength for about £50 per litre as against £85 for Primo Maxx

    Primo max, £70 for 500ml £250 for 5 l.

Dilution rate for grass cut above 18mm is 2.4lha, works out as 80ml -10 litres in knapsack sprayer, £11 ish a tank.

This isnt a solution for large areas but for slopeing banks it is perfect, I also use it on certain small areas of visual importance cut on 2 weekly cycle were it helps keep things looking tidy.

Work out your pricing in terms of reduced cutting etc and for certain areas it will make you money.
  • Yep pitchcare looks like £99
  • yes.
