  • Thanks Paul

I've just secured www.KerryJacksonGardenDesign.co.uk, I'll be working on this new site and my primary site www.JacksonsLandscapeDesign.com when the darker nights draw in as I've a years worth of images to discuss, show and sell to prospects.

    Appreciated

  • Hi kerry
dont change your url mate it will play havoc with your website position in the browsers you could keep both and have one redirect the traffic too the new one maybe that would work.
    all the best chris

  • A bit suspicous about how much they will charge to keep the domain name after two years. I bit like a drug dealer giving away free drugs till your hooked then you pay through the nose for what you put up your nose!

I suggest using a domain name you're not totally comitted to.

Had a look at this offer and have taken it up for a new service we will offer.

In reading the infomation further they state this about future costs:

How much is domain renewal/when will I renew?
Approximately six weeks before your domain is due to expire (two years from the day you registered it) you will start to receive email notifications to the address you have listed as your domain administrator at gbbo.myportalexpress.com (the default is the address you used when you registered with Getting British Business Online).

In that email you will be offered the opportunity to renew your domain, using a payment card, at the current BT.com retail price (at the moment .uk domains are sold by BT for £2.95 per year excluding VAT). You will be able to make your payment by following the instructions in the email. We will send you reminder emails right up to the point that your domain expires. You will also typically receive a cancellation notice from Nominet.

Seems reasonable and it appears you can transfer the domain to your existing hoster (if you have one...)

  • I had a review of my website carried out by a business link advisor, I had the meeting this morning. Very thorough report, good constructive advice and an unhurried meeting to discuss her report.
I would urge all of you to join Business Link and get all the free help there is available, chances are it won't either be free or available for too much longer.
  • Thanks for the info.
    I have secured danpearcegardendesign.co.uk
I am having a few problems at the moment, with regards to actually accessing it and being able to edit it, but looking at all the forums conected to gbbo it looks like a common problem to start with.
Hopefully after the 72hrs they prescribe I should be in and able to update.
This gives me plenty of time as I get up and running to work on the site.

But the main thing is that I have secured the address.

    Thanks once again.
