Fire Pits

Hi all,

Hope everyone is surviving and getting through this very unusal time, I've had to shelve all of my big projects due to supply issues in this current climate... I'm taking on some small local projects,I work on my own and dont need to interact with customers face to face.

I had an enquiry from a potential client, they want a firepit building in their garden, this is something I've been looking to do for a long while so I'm relishing the challenge. I've spent a lot of time in the past reading up about them and construction methods, the big problem I've found here inthe uk is getting hold of the correct materials for construction. All sites/suppliers seem to only provide the above ground steel stand/bowl which isnt really a pit.

It's obviously a big thing in the states as you can get firerings and suitable bricks to build, I'm aware regular stone/brick is no good due to water absortion and the tendancy to explode! My idea would to use either a steel fire ring or firepricks to line the pit and then face off with a regular brick or stone of the customers choice. Hs anyone on here experience with firepits and sourcing materials? I've trawled the internet and ebay with very little luck, any pointers or info would be much appreciated.

Stay safe

Cheers

Darren
