Does a yard attract business rates?

Dear AllI am looking at renting yard space for my expanding business. I will park 2/3 vehicles there and have the possibility of container storage on site. The security on this site seems to be OK, people live on site and there are high security gates and fencing, cctv etc.I was wondering if a yard would attract business rates, can anyone let me know?Many thanksNick

    Yes, unless the owner isn't declaring the yard as additional business for example if he is classed as a farm rather than a mini business park. Don't forget to fill in the rate demand form to claim your small business discount so rates would probably be around £50 per month.

    what yard ? lol

    is it a friends? are they putting the money (if paying rent) on there books?

    you can off-set it against your costs too.
