Do you have a pic of your dog?

This is Holly dog or Holly the fox-eared dog, twelve years old in May. She is good at finding edible food in the countryside - chestnuts, berries of any kind but particularly blackberries, grass sometimes, any old bit of waste.  She can crack a walnut with her teeth, get out the nut and leave the shell - all over the place usually. She has been known to curl her lip at intruders but never attacks anything, just barks a lot. She is a true pack animal, does not like to go for walks without everyone staying in the house coming along too.

Loves his 3 walks a day and his ball.
Only 10mths old and until I get him trained (work in progress) he wont becoming to work with me.

  • This is bas, he come's to work with me every day he loves it.3314629663?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

  • 3314634692?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024This is Jack a 5 month old border collie, he loves a van ride and has been to work with me several times. He is being trained but can be a pain as he does love to chase the rake as it goes back and forth. This is begining to sound a bit like a dating site for dogs.

  • Well I can see Bramble and Jack getting on well. But there aren't any female dogs here yet, do most gardeners only have male dogs?

Bramble the dog that does all the gardening, at the same time sounds a great idea, if only he could tell which was a weed and which a plant.  Perhaps he could be set to digging holes prior to planting?

Here I think I will have to put a fence round the vegetables to keep Holly (and other dogs out) unless tramping down the seeds is good for them.

This is Jess, 18 months old now. Mad as a hatter and a demon for diving into ponds! Comes with me regularly to work. I also have Sam, also a black lab who is coming 14 and prefers to take it easy these days.

  • That's a lot of energy - how can it be harnessed?  Does Larry catch rabbits I wonder? Jess, she's the only female on the dog's dating agency so far.  What great photos. Carol
